Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa Announce New Mixtape, Check Out Their New Song "Uber Driver" (Article+Song Stream)

#AMPtv got the word that Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y are bringing back The Planes once again.

The new project was announced via the Taylor Gang website that the two plan on releasing a new mixtape titled #2009. Khalifa and Curren$y may have picked the name #2009 to symbolize the year they dropped their first classic joint tape, How Fly.

Now, The Planes are officially back. They've released the first single from #2009, "Uber Driver," but currently have no release date. Wiz dropped off a new five-track EP –Talk About It In The Morning – today (March 31) with fellow Taylor Gang member Ty Dolla $ign. Curren$y is currently on his "Pilot Talk 3" tour.

Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y "Live In Concert" mixtape cover !

#AMPtv got word that Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y have announced the title and release date for their upcoming collaborative mixtape.

Breaking the news on Twitter, the Taylor Gang leader revealed that the follow up to 2009's How Fly will be titled Live in Concert and will release on August 9th, exactly three years to the date since their previous offering.

Back in May, Curren$y said that the project was complete and explained what took so long to knock out a sequel. We like what we doing. It’s just about music. We like what we do," he said. "If I’ma be in the studio anyway, he gonna be in the studio wherever he at, we fuckin’ genuinely will fuckin’ kick it. So we might as well fuckin’ kick it in the studio. But if we in the studio, we might as well make songs. We gonna hang out and smoke, smoke in the studio. If you in the studio, you might as well record. So we just kick it and turn it into money, so it’s just a good deal."

Curren$y V.S. Dame Dash ? Lawsuit by Spitta for 1.5 Mil !

New Orleans MC Curren$y finally spoke on recent reports claiming he was looking for $1.5 million from ex-business associate Damon "Dame" Dash, confirming it (legal case) is in motion.

While not really going in depth on any details, Curren$y promised to fully speak on the matter after the smoke rises.

XXL recently caught up with Curren$y as he kicked off his "Jet Life Tour 2012." The usually animated MC was very tight lipped however when talking about the case. "I don't know what we gonna do, but when it's all said and done, I'll tell y'all about it," he said somberly in his tour bus, parked outside the House of Blue before his concert. "Not ever disappointed," Spitta said on his tour bus in New Orleans. "Any situation I ever been through I look at it as a lesson. Just learning something. It's not something you should be disappointed from. It should be a opportunity for you to get some game. It's all good. I'm glad. I'm glad." The lawsuit still has not been resolved. (XXL Mag)

Before the lawsuit was public, Spitta gave credit to Dash amongst other hip-hop executives for schooling him on his current rap game knowledge.

During an interview with MTV News last week, the New Orleans MC admitted that he has learned a lot working with Dash, as well as other notable CEOs he was once signed to like Master P and Birdman. "You run the list, I've picked up game from all of them, man, Master P, Baby. Me and [Lil] Wayne made hours and hours and hours and hours' worth of music in the studio, Dame," Curren$y told MTV News on March 21. "I been around some people, made moves and soaked it all up." Even though the union is now marred in negativity, Curren$y contends that it was a learning experience. "With my last situation, I think I've learned more about the business," he said, referencing Dame's DD172. "I've learned more about the business through that prior situation." (MTV)
