2 Chainz's High School Basketball footage hits the net ! HOMIE GOT SKILL ! (Video and Article)

#AMPtv got the word that Archived footage of rap superstar 2 Chainz has surfaced online and shows him during his pre-fame days as a high school basketball player aiming for greatness in sports.

According to recent reports, the footage comes from the 6-foot-5 rapper's 1995 glory days.

2 Chainz may be getting it right now, but many of us forget that he was once a budding basketball star. ESPN, which recently hosted Chainz on First Take with Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith, found some old footage of him during his high school days. In the clip that's dated from January 17, 1995, Chainz (real name Tauheed Epps) is No. 21 representing North Clayton High School in College Park, Ga. The team faces off against Banneker High School and as you'll see, the kid actually had some hops.

Since the clip surfaced, coaches from his hoop seasons at North Clayton High in Georgia and Alabama State have reflected on Chainz's skills.

James Gwyn, North Clayton head coach (1986-1995): He was a tough matchup. He was a 6-5, 6-6 perimeter player. He didn't play inside at all. He could handle the ball very well, pass the ball very well. He was kind of a slippery guy. The little guys couldn't guard him and the big guys couldn't stay with him.

His college head coach also gave props to Chainz's on-court prowess.

Rob Spivery, Alabama State head coach (1996-2005): I took over the program in August. I coached him for the year, and he played quite a bit for us. He was a tall, thin kid, very athletic and very good ballhandling skills. He was a very good, skillful player. I always liked big point guards. We had talked about playing him at the point guard position because of his ball skills and his passing and understanding of the game.

A few months ago, the Atlanta rapper put his game to work in a friendly hip-hop game of basketball.

You may be familiar with their skills on the mic, but who has game when it comes to the court? During some down time on Drake's "Club Paradise" tour, J. Cole, Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz, and French Montana played a game of 21. It was every man for himself, with Cole gunning for MVP. "That boy good. He need to put that mic down. That boy needs a scholarship," said Waka of Cole, who played basketball through high school and college.
