What makes a rapper’s music good? Is it swagger? Is it
lyrics? What can you actually say that makes the music cool despite the
opposing view.
From the rappers who are more lyrical like J.Cole or Drake.
To the rappers who have hard hitting punchlines like Big Sean and Fabolous, To
the rappers who energy and swagger gets
people pumping like Lil’Wayne or 2 chainz. Is it just a cliché or is it different aspect
that makes a rappers music good? What are the different aspect t. Rick Ross may
not can sing a balad like Drake but voice thunders threw your headphones. Wiz
Khalifa may not have punchline like jadakiss or lyrics like Kendrick Lamar but
has a persona to have fun and work hard.
Is it creativity? Is it a way someone paints the picture with
metaphors like Kanye West or Andre 3000. Or the way you can motivate like Young
Jeezy or Jay-Z? But some happen to cross over their fan base like Eminem to
Nicki Minaj .
It could be the way
the game is. Things get old and newer styles and demands seem to arrive. With
marking schemes. People may say Gucci Mane or Travis Porter doesn’t sell any
records but they have the party jumping like it was an earthquake. Or just
doing something that hasn’t been done or doing something that is in style now.
I personal think that just being real to yourself and your fans.
It seems most rappers try to high jack the fans and wonder why they don’t get
the credit they think is deserved. Whatever road you take do it because that
how it is not just cause you heard Tyga rapping like the same flow and it
sounded “cool” or because Meek Mill is flashing his flow so you want to sound
like him. Whichever door you take rather it’s the business route like 50 cent ,
or Poetic flows like Wale or having fun like Travis Porter.
