Real Niggas WASSUP !?

The other day I was having a very conscious conversation with a brother I know about music when someone had chimed in “Yeah, I like Lil Boosie he a real nigga.” Now before I begin I want to start by mentioning, I like Lil Boosie as an artist. Therefore this is not an attack towards him. I asked the guy who I was talking to, to explain and while his statement barely made any sense he still went on to say “Everything he say is the truth, and he really lived that life.



Now this is quite understandable. What I don’t understand is how you can tell a fake from the REAL without really even KNOWING this person. People are quick to call somebody REAL NIGGAS because they really commit crimes or really “have as much money as they talk about” but none of that justifies what a REAL NIGGA truly is.

So is being a “product of my environment” considered a real nigga? Was Malcolm X a REAL NIGGA ? If you think Malcolm X was a real nigga and you think these rappers are the same you MUST BE TRIPPIN! From the eyes of a civilized individual I cannot say those are one and the same. The English language is very skeptical because of the fact two words can sound the same but mean two different things.

Lets take the word REAL NIGGA and break it down. The word Real by definition means genuine; not counterfeit, artificial, or imitation. Nigga is a black man. If you believe people like Martin Luther King Jr and Sojourner Truth were REAL NIGGAS then these rappers are nothing of the sort. MLK Jr and Malcolm X both had a goal (ergo dream) to unite the people of the world. Music of Today slanders women and corrupts our minds to thinking money, hoes, cars, and clothes are all that’s important in life.
If you ask me that is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what a REAL NIGGA is really considered. Another definition of REAL is true; not merely ostensible, nominal, or apparent: the real reason for an act. Nigger was used by whites to keep blacks in mental irritation and anger. Nigger was a way of saying you are not a part of society and your more animal like then human. This is how that word was used against us, as a mental trigger.

Real Nigga was lost in translation. As of now, in 2012, REAL NIGGA is basically saying your TRULY A NIGGER! I’m black myself so please don’t take offense. Gang bangers (usually black) have killed more Blacks then the KKK ever have in just ONE YEAR! So if helping destroy your own race, corrupting children’s minds, and glorifying money makes me a REAL NIGGA then NO THANKS I’ll PASS! Many cant except this as truth and will blow it off as opinion. My rebuttal to that is take a look in the mirror and tell me what you see ?
Furthermore, the concept of a REAL NIGGA is a broken one. A person isn’t considered REAL for doing the right thing, or being a good person, or even going to college. Societies definition of a REAL NIGGA is more based on CRIME then the good being done for the community. In the words of the half jewish half black rapper “Drake” would say, “REAL NIGGA WASSUP !”
