Young Buck was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday after he pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
When the IRS raided his home two years ago for unpaid taxes they found the weapons and ammunition, a serious federal crime because Buck had been convicted of stabbing a man at the 2004 Vibe awards
Buck, whose real name is Darnell Brown, caught a break when the judge sentenced the rapper to serve his two counts concurrently, so he will spend a total of 18 months in jail.
"With the judge not really considering my criminal history to subtract some time, I'm just thankful for what time I do have," Buck told WSMV.
Buck will have to report to prison on August 13th. In the meantime he will have to wear an ankle monitor and be tested for drugs. If he tests positive he will be sent directly to jail.
After he gets out of prison, he'll be on supervised release for three years.
