The new LP has sold over 100,000 copies after dropping exclusively through iTunes last week.
Leading the pack this week is Frank Ocean's Channel Orange at No. 2 behind Zac Band Brown's Uncaged (234,300). According to Nielsen SoundScan, the iTunes-exclusive LP shelled 131,200 copies in its first seven days.(SOHH)
Target recently defended not carrying Channel Orange and denied blackballing the album over Frank coming out as a bisexual earlier this month.
In response, Target issued a statement to Billboard.biz that reads: "The claims made about Target's decision to not carry the Frank Ocean album are absolutely false. Target supports inclusivity and diversity in every aspect of our business. Our assortment decisions are based on a number of factors, including guest demand. Target has a longstanding tradition of supporting music and artistry that reflects the diverse landscape of American culture. Our history of partnering with diverse artists includes recent partnerships with a variety of musicians, such as Ricky Martin, B.o.B., and Gloria Estefan."(Billboard Biz)
